Is there any way Google Calendar will ever become a Top Site if I use it and use it and use it, or is there something about Google Calendar that makes that impossible?

Top sites is based on your history, is should pop up eventually and then you can pin it.
If it’s not coming up, you could try clearing your history and then make sure Google Calendar is the only thing in your history.
