Porn Blocking should be a feature not an add-on

#1

Being on the internet is hard these days for kids and adults to filter out the porn and the nudity. I am a recovering porn/sex addict and have come a long way over the past few years. Good solid blocking has helped me when i am weak.

I currently have software that blocks porn. but Brave seems to have skirted it. which is fine. people can watch it if they want. i just want to have the option to either not load a page if it has certain words in the url or on the page or if it has been flagged as inappropriate.

I know you cant get rid of everything but if there was a way I would even pay money to have it developed for the brave browser.

I can’t seem to find a way to put a porn blocker as an add on yet.

Any help setting one up or waiting untill something is created for brave would be amazing. thanks!

Not having inside information, don’t take this as gospel, but I think a few things will come along in the long run which will help with this.

First and foremost, I expect that some sort of compatibility with plugins developed for other browsers will come along. Most likely that will be Chrome, but FireFox compatibility would be possible as well, if a little more complicated.

Secondly, I would not be surprised to see parental controls pop up at some point, but this is a feature which would be low-priority at this point, as major features that are essential to every user are still being hammered out.

Third, welcome to Brave! Stay tuned, and enjoy the experience!
