I’m having the same issue, on some videos. Others play fine.

Same issue here.

Description of the issue: Some videos shows artefacts.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open browser
2. Open 9gag.com
3. Browse normally

Actual Result:: Artefacts on top of the video or on whole video.

Expected result: Video plays normally like it was few versions ago (issues started maybe on ~beginning of April)
Reproduces how often: Most of the time. (To the point it became so annoying I had to switch to Chrome temporary)
Brave Version(about:brave): Version 0.63.55 Chromium: 74.0.3729.131 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no): Yes

Additional Information:
link from picture:

HW: intel i7 with integrated intel hd 620.
Software: Win10 Pro. With all latest updates.

For e.g. sometimes when I open dev tools (f12), it looks like graphics driver crashes and recovers. And I’m left with a green screen instead of a video. But this doesn’t happen that often.

It works fine on all other browsers (chromium browsers included)

@de_kato,
Have you tried disabling Hardware Acceleration in Settings?

Settings --> Advanced --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

Disabling hardware acceleration resolves the issue.

Not an ideal solution, but it’ll work for now. Thanks.

That worked for me, thank you.

@de_kato,
Glad this worked for you. I agree – not an ideal solution but it should be a fairly low impact workaround until we get the bigger issue of HWA resolved on our end.
