"Pinned" tabs aren't actually pinned, but just minimised

“Pinned” tabs aren’t actually pinned, but just minimised (like in Chrome itself).

  1. Open a web page.
  2. Right-click on the tab, and then select “Pin.” The tab will be minimized and moved to the far left end of the tab bar.

  • Press ⌘W (Ctrl+W) when the “pinned” tab is active, and it will be gone.
  • Click the middle mouse button (click the wheel button) on the “pinned” tab, and it will be gone.
  • Close the window containing the “pinned” tab, and that tab will be gone as well.

So the ‘pinned’ tabs aren’t actually pinned; they are just minimized. This issue makes it too easy to accidentally lose important tabs, which has happened to me many times. Other browsers like Safari and Opera don’t experience this problem."

Brave version

Version 1.58.135 Chromium: 117.0.5938.140 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Possible ways to fix this issue:

  • Disable the ⌘W (Ctrl+W) shortcut for closing pinned tabs.
  • Disable actions when clicking a pinned tab with the scroll wheel button.
  • Show a warning notification when closing a window with a pinned tab.

It would be great if the developers could fix the problem, but until that happens, I’m searching for an extension that can provide the same functionality. Does anyone know of one?
