Permanently disable caret browsing

I would like for the feature “permanently disabling caret browsing” to be implemented into brave. Why would i want this? Well, F7 being taken up by what I and i am sure many other users regard as a useless feature would be better served as a function key we could setup ourselves. Lets say an auto clicker for example, (taken from someone else on another topic about this type of request/question) or not having the bind set at all (so it doesn’t pop up every time you accidentally touch F7 for whatever reason). Yes, i am aware i can click “don’t show this again” but it always shows again no matter what. I am also aware that some people use this feature and it cant be removed all together. However, a toggle or feature flag option that “could” be accessed would be GREAT. Now i am not a coder so i couldn’t possible understand how hard this would be to add/keep up with for builds. I just know that i personally would appreciate this type of feature being added and i am sure others would love to see this added too.
Its mostly an annoyance to see that caret browsing notification pop up, or to randomly see your cursor on screen in the middle of text’s from time to time. (which took me a while to figure out what it was if im honest). Now, after figuring this out i indeed never forgot what it was. But i was always curious as to why this isn’t a feature already added into brave? Which is the BEST browser that i have personally ever used!

@craxton then remove the shortcut?

You go to brave://settings/system/shortcuts and easier to type in the feature, like caret. When you do, it will show up like below.

Hover over the blank space and the image appears. Click on it and it removes the keybind.

Once done, you no longer will have it activated when you press F7. And if you’d like some other keybind to toggle it, you can click Add and then assign your custom keybind.
