Description of the issue: PDF files cannot be downloaded
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Go to any website with a link to a PDF file
- Click the link
- PDF will open in a new tab
- Click the „…“ menu
Expected result: There should be an icon to have the PDF file opened in Acrobat Reader (if installed) or to save the file.
Actual result: Acrobat Reader does not appear in the list and there is no way to save the PDF file.
Brave Version( check About Brave
): 1.18.1
Mobile Device details iPad Pro with iOS 13.6
Additional Information: I suppose saving a PDF file is something most people do regularly. So I wonder why nobody seems to have fixed this issue until now.
This won’t work in Brave. Use print, swipe to zoom the preview, a larger version will open, hit the share icon and choose “save PDF to …”.
This works.

@thommes
Thanks, it works.
Is this a limitation of all non Safari browsers in iOS? If not than this has to be dumbest thing I have ever heard. I really hope this is not intentional by Brave devs. If so I’m going to abandon Brave once, for all and for good.
Either way: If technically possible please fix this.
@Brave_user,
It’s not intentionally – iOS has a ton of limitations/restrictions it sets for any 3rd-party app on their app store.

Yes, blame Apple for this. Same behavior goes for Chrome and Firefox under iOS.

Fair enough. Thanks for explaining.
