Payout Mismanagement

Brave must not be getting enough ad revenue to make all the payouts because I got a BS reply that my account had been flagged for “irregular activity” and after a review that it would not be unsuspended. But that they appreciate me being part of the community and I will have continued access to all their other great features.

I have been using Brave for years. I pay $9.99 a month for their VPN and I hold over 500,000 BAT…

I was not told what specific criteria my account was flagged for…

This same crap happened with the March payout. I was told I was flagged and would not have my account reopened, then my account was mysteriously reopened and my reward appeared with no explanation. Very same “browsing activity” occurred April, May, and June with no issue. Now suddenly July is flagged with the same crap.

Using your browser for 14 hours a day while you work from home and combining it with Brave’s own VPN should NOT cause these issues!!!

If this is how Brave treats the members of their community why would anyone continue to be a part of it?

I will be uninstalling Brave browser, cancelling my VPN subscription and dumping my BAT. I will also be actively vocalizing Brave’s treatment of their “community” all over social media.

Good job Brave, you saved $4-5 a month in payouts and lost a long time customer.

This has been something frustrating since I joined thanks God I was able to get it done last week so frustrating

stop phishing asshat.

@Jamessv Nope. Absolutely no response from anyone who can actually do anything. Seems like a system of algorithms and bot with zero intelligent human oversight.

In terms of your situation Valkyri, not much to say. Brave never reveals what specific actions got anyone flagged.

If you received the response that they looked and decided not to reinstate, then they are saying a human investigated and determined that there was enough done that there was an abuse of Rewards.

Been lots of discussions on it if people want to take the time to look, but essentially would be viewing ads from outside your country, using automation to view ads, attempting to farm/mine, etc.

Somehow I doubt that.

Crazy part is all the scammers or scammer bots. For example, James here was return of the scammer.

Essentially just repeating the same crap in different places and trying to link to the fake sites. And with the world of VPN and Proxy, it seems to be a nonstop cycle of people creating accounts, posting, getting banned, etc.

Same way of having to deal with these things going on, they also are constantly dealing with people trying to abuse Rewards and “steal” BAT from Brave and the advertisers.

Really wish they’d give me moderator status so I could ban these dumb scam accounts

None of which was done. As stated, the only potential conflict would be Brave’s own VPN. Which is a problem on their end.

Which, as I stated, they had previously happened with the March payout and was later reversed with no explanation. They can say it was reviewed all they like. Without an explanation they could have just as easily sent the same generic email (it is work for word the exact email from March) without doing any investigating. The email could be an auto reply that a human never even saw.

You can doubt it all you like, but I have been using Brave since it’s inception and have added over the YEARS through purchases on Uphold.

I was speaking of the algorithms and bots actually running Brave. But, yes, James is certainly a scammer. Funny how he is not a priority.

I have had ONE account since Brave first went live. Brave decides how many ads are scene and how often. If I use Brave 14 hours a day 6 days a week on my laptop while working at home and also less often but still frequently on my phone, I receive exactly how many ads Brave allows me to see during those periods. No more, no less. The individual ad’s payout is also determined by Brave. I have received anywhere from .01 to .1 BAT for a single ad before. The point is that there is nothing I can do to impact my payout beyond using the service. It is an attention based economy. Until Brave looks around and goes, “Oh hell, that’s more attention than we are willing to pay for.” The solution is to reduce the ad frequency or number of ads visible per day, NOT accuse someone of “theft” (which is BS) and flag their account with no explanation. As I said, total mismanagement and incompetence.
