Paused videos show a black screen


Description of the issue:
Any time I play a video from youtube or udemy and I pause it, a few seconds later the video box will go black. Video plays fine, only happens when the video is paused. Issue does not occur on firefox.
How can this issue be reproduced?

Expected result:
I would expect the video to show whatever frame I paused it on.

Same issue here. For me this is happening on all video playing websites (even YOUTUBE).

Running Ubuntu 20.04.

Upon further inspection, I found out that this only happens when hardware acceleration is turned on, and when the intel graphics drivers are selected with “sudo prime-select intel”

My laptop has an Nvidia graphics card and can use both the intel and Nvidia drivers. This does not happen when the NVIDIA driver is used or when hardware acceleration is turned off.

Same problem here. Running Brave’s latest release on Manjaro 20.2.

I also have an intel graphics card, and as pointed out by @srijan, turning hardware acceleration off in Brave solves it.
