Description of the issue:
Logging Into Different Windows Accounts Shares Brave Passwords
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Logon to a Windows account that’s not your regular Brave browsing account. If you normally logon under your name then use the administrator’s account or another account you have access to.
Go to a password protected website and Brave will offer up whatever passwords are available for that site regardless that you’re on a different windows account in a different %USERPROFILE%.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
If you go to the passwords page in settings you have access to any password saved on any windows logon.
Expected result:
Since your %USERPROFILE% changes with your Windows logon you shouldn’t have access to other Brave passwords that should be stored in another %USERPROFILE%.
Reproduces how often:
Every time.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Windows 10 Brave 1.4.100
Additional Information:
I’m guessing that Brave is storing passwords or synching passwords in a file space shared across %USERPROFILES%.
