Using Brave browser enter Settings, scroll down and enter Brave Passwords manager - you will get passwords stored and some settings for them. You are unable to watch/edit passwords without system phone password/fingerprint entering - means passwords are protected from a person who got your phone just for a second. BUT you are able to watch a web addresses. You can enter this web addresses in a new tab and all the passwords with will be automatically filled in with possibility to log in to services and watching this passworss
**Expected result: Get the additional settings for Brave Password manager or simply by default: when entering login credentials with passwords Brave browser will ask to provide system phone password/fingerprint to enter this login credentials not doing it without protection.
The author described a little bit different feature which, by the way, exist on iOS - an entire lock of Brave browser app. I mean only logical password protection, there is no sense to hide (protect) password one way if they can be snooped another way. However this problem is not critical because why the user should give his device to somebody whom do not trust. However in real life this could happen - you give device for somebody but do not want to exhibit all the passwords. BRAVE is cool to have this option - storing password, just need a little effort to improve protection. AND ALSO I WRITTEN ON ANOTHER POST - MAKE PASSWORD IMPORT, because you have export without import
I agree. There is the feature to lock a private browsing window. Why not protect the users that keep their passwords in the Brave browser? I would personally rather have a lock on the passwords than a lock on a private browsing session.
Haa! I see on android Brave it is different, exactly as you described - lock for private tabs. On iOS Brave instead this feature is something different - lock for entire app. Curios why depending on platform (iOS/android) so many features are different in philosophy and practise.
Really? Well i would have never known that because I dont use apple anymore. Years ago when they intentionally implemented code to make users batteries read lower than they actually were for the purpose of forcing them towards purchasing new devices. If the company is going to manipulate users like that, turn around and tell them that they did it for their own benefits and security reasons and all that is absolutely crazy. Its as if they think intentionally being deceptive is what people want when its for their “benefit”. I dont know about others but i would much rather have the truth and decide what to do, not be lied to and manipulated, which happens to be pushing me to spend more money on a new device because my phone battery is acting like its dying quicker than it really is.
Well at least on ios the entire browser can be locked. Thats a good feature. Its closer to locking down passwords in the browser than it is on android. I would like to see a password lock on the browser passwords or even when trying to access the settings menu would be good but then that might cause accessing the brave sheilds to always have to enter password everytime possibly and that i would not like.
