Parts of website hidden behind tab selector

I’m using android on a pixel 7. Fully up to date brave and android.

On some websites the tab selector (circled in the image) hides what’s underneath it and won’t disappear.

A fix might be:

  1. make the tab selector always disappear after 3 seconds of not touching the screen
  2. if the user swipes up (to scroll down) and does so whe continuously, then it should make the tab selector hide away

@Mk101,
The tab strip there should disappear as you scroll down on the site. So from where you are there, if you just scroll down a tiny bit the strip should disappear and you should be good to go.

Yeah I agree that’s what should happen but I’ve had instances where it didn’t. One example is a couple weeks ago I was on Facebook marketplace (desktop site as you can’t list to sell on mobile site) and was trying to list something. It wouldn’t go away and so I couldn’t click the next button right at the bottom on the mobile (pixel 7). Now, however, it did go away.

It sounds like the issue is intermittent and likely dependent on the fact that you’re using the site (Facebook, in this case) in Desktop view rather than mobile view.

Do you have a way to reproduce this issue consistently?

Actually I just worked it out. If you click on more details on the left it expands the window. On my current layout it expands it to a size whereby I can’t see either the address bar or the tab selector no matter what scrolling I do. If I go to another app and come back however I can see them, and no matter what scrolling I do the tab selector doesn’t disappear and blocks the next buttons.

Can you please share a screenshot of what you’re seeing and/or exact steps on how I can reproduce this behavior?

Go to https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/create/item

desktop site option on brave

Expand the more option button

Leave to go to another application

Come back

I can’t see the next button because the tab selector and address bar don’t get smaller

@Mk101 where is the “more options” button you’re referring to? Can you share a screenshot of the button?

Sorry, it’s more details in the left pane of the prior image. It expands the menu options a bit.
