Paramountplus not working [Solved]

**Description of the issue: Paramount+ No Video player
How can this issue be reproduced?: All I did was go to the site, click a video, and it goes to play but no player shows up.

Expected result: Video plays.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.71.118 Chromium: 130.0.6723.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Just downloaded Brave for windows (formerly from Chrome, which also seemed to have he issue before I uninstalled it), Tubi works fine, went to paramountplus, had to turn shieldsdown, logged in, and tried viewing multiple movies and TV shows, none play. I do have widevine on.

I’d encourage you, for future reference and/or now, to fill out the form below (below my wink emoji)… with that said, here’s a suggestion…

I do not use Paramount+ myself but I know one thing that can sometimes mess with video streamers is a feature called “Widevine”

Which can be found under Extensions or just go here:
brave://settings/extensions
Or just search “Widevine” in settings and it should be found easily enough

Turn it ON to enable it (as it is necessary for at least SOME streamers to work) and retry Paramount+ after turning that on AND relaunching Brave …and see if that works :wink:

I updated with the information. I do have widevine on as I needed to do that to get Tubi to play. I just relaunched and same issues sadly. However, before I uninstalled Chrome, I checked it and same issue. Tried on edge and it works there.

From looking at other posts mentioning Paramount+ (see below)

Did you try with Shields Down/Off
and/or
Are you using a VPN?
(If so, turn those off and try again and see)

The third post above by Saoiray wasn’t specifically about Paramount+ but he says again there and I might say again now… more info would be helpful:

OKKKKKKKKKKKKK so it looks like you are just editing the original post, which works, but can sometimes be missed… as I clearly have been with below comments on questions :face_with_peeking_eye:

  • What version of Brave are you using (Provide exact version number, don’t just say “the latest”) – OOPS I see you said that above too, my ipad, I’m looking at a bunch of different posts recently and people aren’t adding more info as necessary :face_with_peeking_eye: :+1:
  • What OS? (Such as Windows 11, Android 13, iOS 16.6, etc) – THOUGH YOU HAVE ANSWERED THIS QUESTION WITH THE TAG :+1:
  • Does this issue occur with Shields off?
  • Have you tried opening in a Private window?
  • If on desktop, have you tried a new browser profile (making sure not to install any extensions on the new test profile)
  • So maybe a screenshot of your issue might help too? For example, screenshots below to show I’m not having any issues I don’t think.

Editing the main post is helpful, but it doesn’t show a change and the work in progress as it’s going (or bump it to the top of the issues to get more attention) so I would also encourage you to make new posts as well/as I have, to show the work in progress and that you are working on things :wink: :+1:

Ah, you DID help me figure it out. Ad Blocker Plus extension, Ghostery, AND, shockingly, DuckDuckGo extension.

Nice! … though I’m surprised DDG gave a problem, I use it too and have never had a problem with it but… as I said… I don’t use Paramount+ so :man_shrugging: … unfortunately, I’m not a moderator or anything to mark this as resolved (not sure I’d want that responsibility anyway :face_with_peeking_eye: :crazy_face: ) but, at least it has been :+1: Anyway, enjoy your watching haha
