I have been having an issue that when I select an navigation link within a web page that Brave does not update to that link choice. To make it work I have to click into the address bar and hit enter then the page will update to the link location it should go to. This only happens in Brave and not in other Browsers. Below are two web locations that I have this problem with:
@dswalterwi not seeing this on my end on Windows or macOS. Can you please tell me what OS and Brave version you’re using? Additionally, do you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
I’m on Windows 10 with all the most recent updates. This problem has been going on for a long time, maybe a year or so. Just never figured it out.

Can you try visiting the site in a Guest profile (Menu -->More tools --> Guest profile
),close your original profile window (so only the Guest profile is open) visit the site and then test to see if the issue persists?
It works perfectly in Guest Mode.

If that is the case, then you may simply need to clear cache/site data for the affected site(s). Using the example you shared, can you please:

In Brave visit https://ergo.herominers.com/#

Click the “tune” icon on the left side of the address bar

Then, click
Site settings —> Delete data
Note that if you are currently logged into this site, you will likely have to log in again. Refresh the page and test the behavior again.

Would it be possible for you to share a short screen recording of the behavior as you see it on your end so I can get a clear idea of what is going on?
I’d also be interested to know what your Shields settings set to for the site (lion icon in the address bar) and, if disabling Shields for the site has any effect on the issue.
Shields are off for both sites. That was my first try many months ago.
I don’t have a way of recording but if you want to share systems for live presentation.

Does it work in private window mode?
If it does, can you go through the extensions, just disable the lot. and see if it works in normal window mode
(Apologies if you’ve repeated any of these tests)
It did work in the Guest (Private) window mode.
I removed one extension that I don’t think I even use and the problem
seems to have gone away. Attached is the extension I removed:
