Out-of-memory crash during multihour livestreams

Issue
I am repeatedly running into memory crashes, when the page goes black and the error reporting says the browser ran out of memory. So far I have only experienced this while I’ve had a live-stream running for a longer period of time. I cannot say exactly the duration, but probably somewhere between 1 and 2 hours when the crash occurs.

I have seen it on a couple different streaming services, so it’s not something site-specific (though I cannot rule out whether they use the same streaming libraries under the hood - I haven’t investigated that).

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open up a livestreaming service.
  2. Let it play a livestream for a couple of hours.

Expected result:
That the stream can continue playing without encountering a critical error, which requires the page to be refreshed.

Is this streaming on twitch? Does it occur if you limit the streams to 720p ?

Testing https://www.twitch.tv/supertf @1080p. Via Brave/Tools/Task Manager. Memory use will vary between 340k->380k.

Maybe more efficient than loading multiple twitch streams, using https://www.multitwitch.tv/

I do not recall encountering this on twitch. So far I’ve seen this error happening on sites such as https://www.hltv.org/ (this might have been a twitch stream), https://viaplay.dk/, and https://www.nflgamepass.com/, and not all of those have custom resolution controls.
