Description of the issue:
On the left end of the menu bar I have a folder titled Other bookmarks which contain various bookmarks. I have created a couple of sub-folders under Other bookmarks. Creating the sub-folders MAY have started this issue but I am not sure. I have been using Brave for some weeks with the sub-folders in use. The issue just started.
I just created a new bookmark with Ctrl D. The folder offered was “Other bookmarks.” However, instead of placing the bookmark in the existing Other bookmarks folder, Brave created a new Other bookmarks folder on the right end of the Bookmark bar.
If I open the Bookmark manager I see:
Bookmarks
—Other bookmarks
------sub-folder1
------sub-folder2
------sub-folder3
------etc
—Other bookmarks
The second Other bookmarks is at the same level as the original folder. I have emptied the second folder but I cannot delete it. If I place a bookmark in Other bookmarks it places it in the second folder by that name which as I said is on the right end of the bookmark bar.
How can this issue be reproduced?
I have described what I can. I cannot reproduce it because I cannot delete the second Other bookmarks folder.
Expected result:
I expect that adding a bookmark to “Other bookmarks” should do just that. NOT to create a new Other bookmarks folder.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
1.19.84
Additional Information:
This has happened before. I believed I cleaned up my bookmarks by moving all bookmarks from the original Other bookmarks folder to the new folder then deleting the original folder. I then somehow managed to shove the Other bookmarks folder to the right end of the bookmark bar. I am going to export my bookmarks before I try that again.
