Option to put bookmarks on the same line as the URL line

I am requesting and suggesting a feature for more options on where booksmarks can be added on the top bar.

The current implementation of bookmarks, when enabled for top bar… Adds a whole other thick line in order to display booksmarks below the url bar.

This is not ideal for me, because its creating even more thickness to the tops bars, which then in turn… allows me less to be displayed on my browser window, reduces the size of some things too like videos as well.

The home button is perfect where it is, even allowing more than one home button with different colors could be cool too.

I would like an option to add bookmarks to the same bar as the home button without having to add more thickness to my top bars and a whole other permanent bar.

I am aware you can select bookmarks through the tab menus on the right to disable the bookmark bar, but i think there should be an option to incorporate booksmarks into the already existing bar without adding more bars.

It is highly unlikely that this kind of change will make it into the browser. If this were to happen, you’d gain a small amount of vertical height at the expense of overcrowding the toolbar at the top, which already has a ton of icons and content there. Additionally, users with a lot of pinned extensions would ultimately have less room for their bookmarks, which means they would have to decide which to prioritize.

For these (and many other reasons) the bookmarks bar will remain beneath the address bar, where they can be easily accessed, out of the way and don’t overcrowd any other area of the browser.

It is worth mentioning that you can use Ctrl + Shift + B (Command + Shift + B on macOS) to show/hide the bookmarks bar. This allows you to display it when you need to use it, but then hide it right away when you’re done and you don’t have to open any menus or even move your mouse.
