I like the Brave sidebar because it gives you greater control over what you utilize in said sidebar than most browsers offer… however, they’re essentially just glorified bookmarks in their current state, whereas the sidebar on other browsers like Opera enable pop-out for all of the features. Brave only does this for the Reading List and Bookmarks sidebar buttons. The crypto wallet and Brave Talk buttons, as well as any custom buttons, just open the link in your current tab
I think it would really be useful to offer an option to have all links open as a pop-out like the Bookmarks and Reading List.
This would enable individuals to add messengers to the sidebar so they can reply to messages without switching tabs, and it would also allow people to effectively run certain sites (eg. Wikipedia) in the sidebar, which could be really helpful for research as it would reduce the amount of tab switching needed.
