Description of the issue:

When building a token transfer transaction between EOAs, the brave wallet is calculating the gas fee which is accurate, however the “Total Gas” seems to throw the whole token transfer total which throws an “Insufficient balance”… thus making the transfer impossible and must be rejected. Any assistance with this issue would be highly appreciated.

Hello - Do you have ETH available to make the transfer? Have you tried lowering the send amount slightly? Thanks!

Yes I did and that didn’t work either (like thats an acceptable solution anyway:( ) I used another wallet. Now its happening again with SOL… What could be the issue here ?

TBH this feels like a scammy bug that has been left to roam around because it generates fees.

Sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing. Brave Wallet does not auto-deduct the gas amount needed if you try and transfer the Max amount of a required network token.

For example, the below screenshot shows an attempt at sending the Max amount of ETH on Optimism from a specific address + the gas fee required.

Since I’m attempting to use the max amount of ETH available, there is none left to pay the gas fee. This can be resolved by leaving enough available for gas when sending a network token like ETH or SOL.
