Opening settings crashes browser

Description of the issue:

  1. Every time I try to open Settings, Brave crashes.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave.
  2. Click the three dots.
  3. Press Setings

Expected result:

  1. Opening Settings.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Can’t open settings to find out. App Store says it is up to date.

Mobile Device details
IPad Pro 17.6

Additional Information:
I had the settings crash before. I can’t recall if updating the app fixed it or it has just never gone away and I gave up. Sorry, I know that’s really not helpful.

Suggestion: Back up your iOS device Brave Browser bookmarks:

In your iOS Files (the Files.app) directory, create a new folder:

“BraveBrowserFolderBkup”

that is at the same level of the other iOS applications’ folders.

Move all your iOS Files > Brave Browser folder contents to that backup folder.

Place a copy of your backed up (ie Exported) bookmarks (the “bookmarks.html” file) . . . in that backup folder.

If you can export or somehow preserve any passwords that you may have saved within Brave Browser, do that . . . preserve them somewhere other than the “Brave Browser” folder. Get a copy over to some external drive, for example.

Completely delete the Brave Browser app from your iOS device.

Disconnect the power cord.

Completely shut down your iOS device.

  1. Settings
  2. General
  3. Scroll to the bottom
  4. Select Shut Down

Wait 30 seconds.

Connect the power cord and wait for the iOS device to start up.

Go to the Apple App Store and download and install Brave Browser (iOS).

…huh. None of my bookmarks are in my Brave folder. It’s empty… That’s probably part of the problem? I will do the other things and report back.

It didn’t work. I fresh installed it and it still crashes when I try to open settings.
