Description of the issue:
Opening list of bookmarks makes Brave connect to bookmarked website without my permission. This has been happening for a long time.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Launch Brave
- Tap dots “…”
- Tap “Bookmarks”
- Tap “Mobile Bookmarks”
- Brave lists the bookmarks AND makes an outgoing connection to one or more bookmarked websites without actually opening that website
- For example, my bookmarks are
example1.com
example2.com
example3.com
As soon as I open the list of bookmarks, Brave would make an outgoing connection to example2.com without me tapping on it, and without opening the actual website. I suspect Brave could be trying to retrieve the favicon, but I could be wrong.
Expected result:
Brave should not connect to any 3rd parties without my permission
