Opening external links in background doesn't work

Description of the issue:
On macOS, there is a common way for opening any link in the default browser but “in background”, i.e. without taking the focus. This is done with ⌘-click instead of a regular click.

For example, when Safari is the default browser, doing a ⌘-click on any link in an email from Mail.app would open that URL in Safari but Safari wouldn’t take the focus and you would stay in Mail.app. This works with any app in macOS. This is very useful when you want a few URLs to be opened in the browser but you want to check them out later.

Steps to Reproduce:
⌘-click any link in macOS.

Actual Result:
Brave browser shows up and steals the focus.

Expected result:
Pages should be loaded in Brave browser, but without Brave being actually showing up and stealing focus.

Reproduces how often:
Always.

Brave Version:
Version 0.61.51 Chromium: 73.0.3683.75 (Build officiel) (64 bits)

Reproducible on current live release:
Yes.

@Mattches Any help? Otherwise, is this “Community” the proper way to report bugs and issues?

@Sinklar,
Sorry for the late reply – and yes, you are in the correct place.
I believe that the feature you’re describing is specific to Safari – both Chrome and Firefox open links and steal focus when they launch.
