Open in New Tab not working since last update with some links



I used to be able to right-click and choose “Open in new tab”, or middle-mouse-click on ALL links and they would open in a new Tab. But since the last update, some of the links don’t open in new tab. Nothing happens when I attempt to open with either technique.

The links I cannot open are on these pages:

If I left click the links, they do work, but open in the current tab.
(I like to load a bunch of forum threads in new tabs, and then review them after.)

I’m pretty sure it is consistent, not intermittent.

My environment:
Windows 7 64-bit
Brave version 0.19.123

I see a similar issues – Brave is set as the default browser, but links clicked in other applications no longer open in Brave.
When I change the default browser to Vivaldi or Firefox, links clicked in other applications (Tweetium, Slack, Evernote, for examples) the link is opened in the default browser.


Another +1 on this.

Actually mine is worse - I cannot open ANY links in a new tab.
Makes the browser practically unusable.

yepp, even with google search result. none of the links work with right-click and choose “Open in new tab”. that was a funny update…


I find that I cannot open new tabs if I already have a number of existing tabs open. However, this number seems to vary.

I also have this issue. On a google search result page, I cannot open any link in a new page.

Well explained. This still seems like it should be a major priority.


have same issue as well, mostly on Google Search, but sometime on other pages (not reproduceable)

Do you have Site Isolation enabled in the preferences page under security?


I have not. The issue isn’t fixed although more rare now. Will start using Brave as soon as it is.
