Open extension in sidebar not working as expected

Description of the issue: Unable to open the sidebar from the context menu of the extension in Brave although it works in MS Edge.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to https://github.com/GoogleChrome/chrome-extensions-samples/tree/main/functional-samples/cookbook.sidepanel-multiple
  2. Clone the directory or create a folder in your computer and download the files.
  3. Load this folder in Brave as an unpacked extension.

Expected result: When you click the extension icon it opens a context menu and the first option should be “Open in sidebar”.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 1.65.114 Chromium: 124.0.6367.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)
