Brave is my default browser, and my laptop is linked to and synced with OneDrive. When I go to the Cloud icon in the System tray and choose “View Online” it won’t open OneDrive online, I just get a web page searching for it and a continuous rotating icon. If I manually enter the address onedrive live com, Brave goes straight to my OneDrive page no problem. If I change the browser to use Opera, choosing “View Online” works perfectly - but not through Brave! What can I do? Many thanks.
I’m having the same problem… for several days now. I can’t get OneDrive to load in Brave even if I manually enter the address. It loads fine in Edge or Chrome. I can get to it via “private window” in Brave. I’ve disabled all of my extensions individually and retried with no luck.
I have the same issue with the OneDrive cloud on my task bar when Brave is the default browser on W10.
Typing the ‘onedrive.live .com’ address opens it just fine.
I’ve added it to the “site” icons on the new tab page in Brave. It works from there.
I have the same problem. It happened when Microsoft updated something or the other, like security updates or Office365 updates. I was typing on Word Doc, and saved and it went blooey and deleted the whole doc. and issues since then. Microsoft One Drive customer service rep said since it worked fine for me in Edge and also in Chrome, then it wasn’t a Microsoft One Drive problem.
Same here. No matter if Brave Shields is on or off. I never get any error, just pending - so I cant report nonworking site on Brave
On address bar (https://go.microsoft.com) favicon is inverse color exclamation sign inside a black ball (!) and there is error “Your connection to this site is not secure. and so on”.
Also I verified that Brave Cache for site go.microsoft.com is empty so there are no cached cookies nor data.
But when I copy paste pending link to Brave Incognito window I will get Microsoft logon page instantly.
Thank you all for reporting.
Not seeing this issue on my end. I’m able to visit onedrive.live.com without issue and I can also right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray, click View online and the site loads (to the login screen) as expected.
For those of you who are able to visit the site normally in Private windows, can you please try clearing cache/site data for onedrive? I noticed that @tlindi stated that cache was cleared for go.microsoft.com — however, it cache/cookies likely also need to be cleared for additional domains, namely:
Can anyone here experiencing this issue please launch Brave and go to brave://settings/content/all and ensure that you search for and clear all data related to the above domains, then try logging into OneDrive again?
Thank you for detailed instructions of cookies needed to be cleared.
I cleared according to you list and issue was solved. Login screen came up R-Click on OneDrive and “View Online”. I logged in with my 2FA enabled and selected “Remember Me on this device” (or “Keep me logged in”, or what ever that question was). I can access OneDrive content nice. Fine, but…
As I close all Brave Windows and R-Click View Online, the issue is back.
So I’d say issue is related to cookies retaining user login as permanent.
Likely out could see details from some debug log or so. Can I help you somehow on such? (I won’t post my logs on public.)
@tlindi thank you for testing/confirming. Bringing in @fanboynz to take a look at what might be going on here. Do you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
When I launch Onedrive “View Online” I have always a blank page on Brave (Brave set as default browser)
Brave Reset didn’t fix it, no addon at all, default conf, no modification, only the first OneDrive “View Online” page load works after Microsoft authentication. If you close Brave, it won’t work anymore.
Don’t change any setting, just relaunch OneDrive “View Online”, microsoft asks to authenticate, it works only once, page loads fine
Close tab, close Brave
OneDrive “View Online” → Brave is stuck loading OneDrive, always blank page, even with shields down
As many other users reported this on Brave support forums, only fix is to launch the OneDrive link in “private Browsing” and reauthenticate everytime to Microsoft (annoying)
I found something close to this on Github brave/brave-browser: " OneDrive page not loading when it contains specific Word, Excel, and OneNote files #43568
No problem when Firefox is set as deflaut browser, page loads fine.
I had no issues here, Using Brave as the default browser. Maybe re-assign the default browser back to Brave, and also test it is actually the default. (open a html file in explorer to see Brave opens it)
