On Android (10): how to switch back and forth within one tab?

Hello, if I use Back button at bottom of screen (intending to go back to previously visited pages), I am returned to the Launcher (not intended…). Can sb please shed some light on how to go back in browsing history? and how to move forward then again? Thank you!

You can use your phone’s “back” button and use (see screenshot) for “forward”.
