Does anyone else think this ignorant, poorly thought out, intentionally nitpicky in a reverse engineering categories and templates sort of way is very annoying?
Hello - Can you elaborate on the issue you’re experiencing? Thanks!
All my browser data was erased as I was browsing. I stepped away for a minute to get a drink, came back, noticed my bookmarks bar was gone, and no other visible changes. I went to a website that requires login, which is usually saved in Brave, but it wasn’t there. So I opened passwords, no passwords are listed, I had probably 30. History, gone. I can’t find anything that would be saved from day to day use, even the tie to my BAT and uphold are gone.
My post was because it kept asking me to rewrite my post to post it, to click some link for a template to fill out, all that was very annoying at the time.

I encountered that issue, sometime between 02/14/2025 and early this morning on 02/15/2025.
Occurred while the Brave Community (Discourse software) edit window was open, while I was writing a reply.
I was surprised to see the prompt - never saw it before - did not make sense to use a template, given that I was not making an Original Post.
I considered the alert to be potentially malicious, and “Where did that come from?” . . . so I clicked a Cancel button.
Then, I closed all windows immediately and quit Brave Browser.
All my reaction and steps occurring within 2.5 sec.
No loss of data; and, I do not use Brave Browser’s Password Manager; and, I do not maintain browser History.
My Brave Browser settings are conservative: Private Browsing / Private Windows, clear cookies, cache, and more, on Exit.
It was odd, very persistent. It was giving me links to download templates, or links to a filled out one that I could copy and paste. However, I was in the help area looking to post after the issue happened. Maybe I was already hijacked but my one post did go through so I must have been in this forum at some point lol. I don’t remember what sites I had open but I do remember that earlier that day I had removed some bloatware from my pc. It’s an acer and I removed acer jumpstart acer care center and an acer updater program too. Maybe I changed a system profile that made brave think i was a different user? If so, where would I find my old data?
