How about introducing offline signing for brave wallet, so one does not need a hardware wallet. This could be done with QR codes, like with airgap, or with an sd card, like with coldkite. One could use an off-line computer or old smartphone to safely store their private key. One could start by running brave on an old off-line computer for signing only.
