Not received pending BAT - March 8th

Pending pay outs for over 2 months now…

Verified account on Uphold. Verified sites. Still no Payouts. Starting to think this is a scam.

Hi @NerdLabsAdmin thanks for the report.

Can you clarify what you mean by “payouts”? Do you mean:

  1. You are not seeing tips you know have been made to you, via the Brave browser, landing on your publisher dashboard (i.e., the dashboard at publishers.basicattentiontoken.org)?

OR

  1. The BAT from inside your publisher dashboard is not transferring/depositing into your linked Uphold account on the 8th of the month? (Most recently, Feb. 8th, 2019?)

Thanks!

The 2nd. The BAT inside my publisher dashboard has been PENDING for the last 2-3 god damn months. All of a sudden I need to verify my uphold wallet. Which I did already. And it is still there.
What is the frigging hold up?

Thanks for the clarification. Can you tell me on what date you verified your account with Uphold? @NerdLabsAdmin

@NerdLabsAdmin Thank you. I am 99% sure I know the answer to your case:

In order to qualify for a payout, your Uphold account needs to be verified. However, payout statements (kind of like credit card statements) are generated on the 1st of each month. That means if you were not verified/KYC’ed before the 1st, then you would have been ineligible for the payout transaction occurring the following week (i.e., on the 8th).

Since you verified on the 6th of Feb, that explains why the Jan. 8th payout was missed, and also why the Feb. 8th payout was missed.

However, now that you’ve verified, that means that you’ll make it into the March 1st payout statement, and therefore receive your deposit as expected on March 8th.

We are trying to improve the upfront messaging for publishers so that they can better understand how the payout schedules work. I apologize for the inconvenience. Fortunately, you’ll see a deposit by the 8th of March, and in fact, you may even see one sooner since the publishers team may decide to push out another round of payouts before then, given many publishers fell into the same situation as you did.

Thank you for your understanding!

Spare me your legal mumbo jumbo, because it has been at least 3 months. and this whole verification garbage didnt take effect until just recently. I know for a fact that I am not the only one experiencing these issues. We will see what happens with the March 8 pay out. If you work for Brave and BAT I hope that you polish up your resume.

I have same problem and it seems many other publishers too, so publisher team should execute manual take of for pending tokens ASAP, but in January team already says that do this in few days but have some job to do and thats all team provide info to wait for 8 Feb. Publishers do KYC on Uphold but it takes time due thier strange system and voilà token stuck for 3months! This is not looking professionally and draw bad impression.

I am not sure what you mean by “legal mumbo jumbo”, but I can lay it out again if you give me a chance  :

  1. If you did not complete verification by the 1st of a month, then you will not receive the payout which occurs on the 8th of that month.

  2. In your case, you did not complete the verification by the 1st of the month. (I am not blaming you for this; you did not know that verification needed to be completed by the 1st.) Therefore, this explains why you did not receive your payout on the 8th of Feb.

The 6th of February (the date of your verification) is after January 1st, and is also after February 1st. Therefore, you missed the January 8th payout and the February 8th payout.

know for a fact that I am not the only one experiencing these issues.

You are 100% right. You are not the only one who verified after the 1st of February, and therefore missed both the Jan 8th payout and the February 8th payout!

Not really sure if you read the part where I stated that my payment has been pending for the last 3 months. Well before the KYC garbage started. So now, 3 months ago, is before 1st of January, which is before the 1st of February, which is before the 6th of
February and therefore that entitles me to be paid without having to jump through these hoops. Maybe if I write it in cat… meow… meowww… meooooww. Meow. Meow. Meow meow.

In this case, you received payments before December 1st 2018 (for example, in November 2018) and then did not receive your payments on December 8th? If so, then there is certainly a further problem that needs to be investigated.

I shall cc: @Asad so he can check on your contribution history to see what may have gone awry, apart from the verification issue.

Not really sure if you read the part where I stated that my payment has been pending for the last 3 months.

I apologize for misunderstanding you. I based my reading off your original post, which said:

Note the “2 months”. Normally, “over 2 months” means some amount of time greater than 2 months but less than 3 months. (Of course, “over 2 months” could also technically mean 88 months, or pi^2 * e months . But usually, it means “somewhere greater than 2 months but less than 3 months” if we abide by norms of conversation.) I see that you later adjusted to say “at least 3 months” after reading my initial explanation of the issue, which we can of course help to verify, as mentioned above (cc: @asad).

That said, comments like this:

Maybe if I write it in cat… meow… meowww… meooooww. Meow. Meow. Meow meow.

or threatening my job and livelihood with comments like:

If you work for Brave and BAT I hope that you polish up your resume.

Hi @nerdlabsadmin, let me help enumerate and clarify your case. I can definitely understand how this was a series of unfortunately timed events.

  1. Your website or channels were verified on the 28th of November, 2018.

  2. Your Uphold verification status was completed on February 6th, 2019.

  3. KYC requirements (i.e., Uphold verification) were imposed starting from the January 2019 payout.

  4. Not receiving your January 2019 and February 2019 payouts can be explained by the lack of Uphold verification by the 1st of those months (see points #2 and #3).

  5. The remaining question, therefore, is: “Why did I not receive a payout on December 8, 2018, given this was before the KYC requirements were imposed?”

We looked into the back-end, and the answer to #5, is the following:

You certainly verified your website on the 28th of November 2018 (as evidenced by your screenshots), but because the first tip was made to your site on the 28th/29th of November 2018, then given the 7-10 day delay/buffer between when a tip is made on the browser-side and when it arrives in your dashboard, the tips would not have landed in your dashboard by the 1st of December 2018. Therefore, they would not have made it into the payout statement generated on the 1st of December 2018 (which determines what gets paid out to Uphold on the 8th of Dec. 2018).

The initial correspondence we had changed substantially when the information adjusted from “past 2 months” to “greater than 3 months”, as “greater than 3 months” would have required an additional explanation above and beyond KYC requirements. I believe the update I have just provided above helps provide that additional explanation.

In summary:

  1. December 2018 payout: Tips had not arrived yet, given the first tip was only made on the 28/29th of Nov 2018, and would only arrive in the dashboard 7-10 days later.

  2. January 2019 payout: No Uphold KYC.

  3. February 2019 payout: No Uphold KYC.

  4. March 2019 payout: Should be fine!

@chriscat I know I’m nothing to do with this, but your approach to this has been exemplary, despite several antagonistic replies you’ve responded clearly and courteously. You should definitely make sure ‘excellent professional conduct’ is on your résumé…

Hello Rohitahuja, in the future please create a new thread for your case and do not use someone else’s thread for their case.

When did you make the tip to your website? Please note that it currently takes up to 7-10 days for the BAT tip from the Brave browser to arrive in your dashboard.

Thanks.

Waiting for my payout… today is the day… @chriscat

By your admission, today I should get my BAT.

The payout is still in process. Thanks for your patience. :slightly_smiling_face:

Please note, that the payout is processed during the work day in the Pacific Standard Time Zone, where Brave is based.
