Non-English letters (e.g Å, Ä, Ö) makes it impossible to go back / previous page

Description of the issue:
Hi,
I have noticed that URLs comprising non-English letters (only tried with the letters å,ä,ö) makes it impossible to use the phones return button to go back to previous page. When you press the “back arrow” button on the phone nothing happens and if you press it a number of times it will sometimes jump to a number of pages back, never the previous one,

How can this issue be reproduced?

1.When using the mobile brave app, click on this link:
https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/3f2vsw/til_denmark_didnt_have_the_letter_å_until_1948/

or any post title in https://www.reddit.com/r/sweden/ that contains the letters å.ä, or ö, since reddit URLs comprises the post name.

  1. Use the phones back button to go back to previous page.

Actual Result:
Nothing happens or if pressing the back button a lot, jumps back multiple pages, never just the one previous page.

Expected Result:
Go back to last previous page.

Reproduces how often:
Seems to happens always when there are å,ä,ö in the URL and when you clicked on a linked. It have not been conclusive when writing in the URL directly in the URL-bar.

**Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave 1.29.76, Chromium 93.0.4577.58

**Mobile Device details: Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi.

Additional Information:
This problem does not occur in the Chrome app. When copying the URL in brave, the clipboard changes the letters to ASCII (?) or UTF-8 and It seems like some browsers convert those letters to in the URL, see example below:

https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/3f2vsw/til_denmark_didnt_have_the_letter_%C3%A5_until_1948/

and

This is written on a desktop so I hope that everything works since i cant try it.
Im grateful for all the help I can get
