New version alerts should include advisory information re who needs or can benefit from the update

New version alerts only state the version number of the new release and my current version.

If the update doesn’t include anything useful to me I would prefer not to download it.

Please include advisory information re who should d/l the new version – either in the alert, or separately, in an email to your users.

Also, the alerts always say the new version has been downloaded (& is ready to be installed). How can I disable that and just download the new versions when I want them?

Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion! We suggest across the board that everyone install every update as soon as possible. Not doing so is always a risk, as we’re constantly adding new and enhanced privacy and security fixes. The auto-updater cannot be disabled.

You can see brave.com/latest for a full breakdown of patch notes etc.
