Received a new update notice today. I tried to install on my MAC desktop it but failed (corrupted) I’m not a guru and I guess mistakenly deleted Brave to reinstall a new version from scratch. The new version installed… but… I have lost all my sites, bookmarks, etc.
Is there a way to get this all back…? I still have the old version with all the files in "trash? but not sure how to proceed. I’m running Ventura 13.7 OS
And the “Brave Browser Helper . . . .diag” crash reports within:
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
After you install and have imported bookmarks (from wherever you save them as a bookmarks.html file), please practice a routine of backing up Brave Browser bookmarks by using the Bookmarks Manager > Export button (that produces “bookmarks.html” files, that ought to be saved anywhere but NOT inside some Brave Browser folder.
IMHO, a worthwhile backup application for Mac OS and Windows OS and mobile devices - GoodSync:
Thanks you for that reply.
All of my bookmarks were Brave bookmarks. When I uninstalled Brave that all disappeared. However, I have all of the uninstalled files in my “trash”. Is there a way to uninstall the newest version of Brave and re-install the old version from Trash on a MAC?
If everything is present and you install the same version you were using previously, then you should be able to simply restore the files from the trash, then reinstall the version you were using before.
