Additional Information:

@Simon2 you’re missing the description of the issue, which is pretty important. For example, what is happening that you say it’s not working properly? Does it not load? Can you see things but can’t click? Does it give an error message? There are many possible scenarios and it’s hard to help you when nobody knows what’s going on.

That aside, have you done any of the basic troubleshooting steps? For example:

  • Disabling Shields

  • Opening Yahoo Mail in a private window

  • Testing on a new browser profile

Also I guess should ask, is Yahoo Mail the only site where you’re having issues?

I thought I wrote in the description of the problem below the separator line. Anyway, When I open yahoo mail, There are boxes that you can click on that will allow you to choose that email to do with what you want. It won’t let me click in the boxes. It opens the email when I didn’t want to open the email. The tabs at the top of the email are grayed out and even when they aren’t they don’t work now. I did disable the shields. Didn’t work. I did try testing on a different browser(Microsoft Edge) and Yahoo mail worked. I have not tried Yahoo in a private browser yet but I can try that right now. Tor won’t let me in. Or maybe Yahoo won’t let me in and it isn’t a Brave problem. I don’t know what is going on. I never had this problem before.

Simon

Yeah, open in private window. Not private with Tor, that can open up its own set of problems. The reason for opening in private is that it starts a new session with no cookies and also has all extensions disabled by default. So it’s essentially trying to rule out either of those as the problem.

And when I say new browser profile, I mean to click on the hamburger menu, which looks like image and click on More Tools → Add new profile. This creates a secondary profile in the browser which will serve like you just installed it. The majority of the settings will be default and no extensions will be installed. Again, just a troubleshooting step to see if things work there. If so, helps narrow down potential issues.

Hello,

That actually worked. Yahoo mail functioned properly with the private browser and instructions you gave. So it might be one of my extensions or something???

Simon

Correct, if it opened in a private window then we can typically assume it’s either cookies or an extension causing problems.

Knowing that, then have to decide which order to test. Either clear cookies first or can go to disable extensions. Overall just will take a little time to toggle things around until you find out the issue. And if discover it’s a particular extension, then have to decide if removing it or contacting the extension’s developers to try to get things adjusted.

I will do extensions. I cleared the cookies and everything yesterday after we spoke. I will try that and let you know. Thanks.

Sounds good. Hopefully not too many extensions and it’ll be quickly noticeable to you as you toy with it.

If not, do want to bring up one thing just in case might have to revisit cookies and ask how you cleared. Such as if went through Delete browsing data and if you made sure to set the timeframe for more than the default Past hour. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it, if we have to.

I only have 3 extensions. Emoji keyboard emojis for chrome,
Google Translate
Share-A-Cart
I turned off the emoji one. Then yahoo mail worked. I turned it back on and then yahoo mail still worked, So There must have been some glitch with that extension. Yahoo Mail is working as it should now. Thank you very much for your help. I would have never thought of the extensions.
