New Tab ignores settings every 3 or 4th time a new tab is opened

Description of the issue:
Brave New Tab settings have been set to solid colour, but every 3rd or 4th time I open a new tab, I get a pic, usually with some advertising on it.
E.g settings are:

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I just keep opening new tabs. Every 3rd or 4th or 5th tab will be an image. Sometimes if I haven’t opened a new tab in a while, the very next new tab will have an image.

@Grognardo, let me first reassure you that Brave is not ignoring your settings. What you’re seeing are called Sponsored Images, also known as New Tab Page (NTP) ads. In the same area where you choose backgrounds, you’ll find a toggle for Sponsored Images at the very bottom.

If you turn that toggle off, you won’t see them anymore. Otherwise, these ads will occasionally appear when you open your New Tab Page. If you’re opted into Rewards and connected to a custodial account, you’ll get paid for them displaying. If you’re not opted in, their display helps support Brave and Creators.
