The new desktop notifications (Ads) from the Brave Browser are making me think I want to stop using Brave Browser and use Chrome instead. Brave was first known for blocking ads, now they are putting them right in my view all day long. They are very distracting as they popup often, drawing my eyes to them. I am working and don’t want them to take my focus. Can I turn them off?
Yes they can be disabled, you just won’t earn Rewards from them.
To do this, you can either reset Brave Rewards data and then disable Rewards entirely, or keep Rewards enabled and disable Brave Ads from within the Rewards Settings.
To disable Rewards entirely (assuming they are enabled currently):
- Launch Brave and go to
Settings --> Rewards - Click
Moreon the bottom left of the page - Select
Disable and reset Rewards
To disable Brave Ads (but keep Rewards enabled):
- Launch Brave and go to
Settings --> Rewards - Click
