New "Are you sure you want to exit" popup on android

After the last update, I’m now asked to verify that I want to exit Brave after I click the “exit” selection. Get a popup that basically says “Are you sure you want to exit Brave”.

Why? Of course I want to exit Brave…I hit the “exit” option.

Take away this silly feature, or at least give a user the option to turn it off. This is getting too Samsung like where you select an option and you’re faced with an additional “are you sure” type prompt.

This type of question should only be asked when you’re doing something that may be unsafe, not popping up whenever you want to do a basic task.

I have the same problem, the question is superfluous. And in addition, although I am using a German version of brave, the question is in English.

Please stop this. We’re not clueless people who “aren’t sure” if we want to exit a browser when we select “exit” browser.

Same here, please implement the option to permanently disable this query. So everyone can decide how they deal with this window.

Same here. It’s really annoying. At least please add a setting option to turn it off.

Same issue. Brave please either remove this exit confirmation or give us a way to turn it off.

I have opened the following issue on our Github for our developers to consider:

thank you

since the update last week, the popup is in german

By all means provide the option to disable it or not, but NOT to remove it altogether.

It’s very easy (at least for me!) to inadvertently go back one step too far and exit an app. As I have my settings to clear all data and history on exit this would be disastrous so please don’t remove it completely.

Why was this even added?

It seems like the recent update introduced a confirmation prompt for exiting Brave. This is likely a feature to prevent accidental closure, but I understand it can be annoying. You may want to check the settings of PGSharp to see if you can disable this prompt, or you can provide feedback directly to Brave so they can consider adding an option to turn it off in future updates.

Any update on whether this will get fixed or not?

I’ll jump on this thread too, accidentally made an additional thread about it.

This needs to be fixed ASAP. Add a simple checkbox to the popup that says “Don’t show this again”. Also, put the option in the settings to enable/disable the popup.

Any news peeps =]?
Or should we just follow the Github thread?

Seems like Brave isn’t going to do anything about this.

If Brave does nothing, I will do something. This message annoys me huge!

I think I have already found an alternative …

What is the alternative?

This is a personal decision and has no place under brave support.

Nothing happened, so brave is gone on Tablet (Android) and Desktop (Debian).

Adieu

Hmm. At first, I thought, “how strange, I don’t have this problem folks are complaining about”.

So I did this: tapped on Brave main menu button → Exit option. And sure enough, I see the “are you sure” pop up.

Anyway, why have I never seen the Confirmation before? Because, on our Android phones, I never use an app’s dedicated “exit” option to quit.

A swipe up at the lower left corner of the screen brings up the “Recently used apps” (also known as “Recent apps” or the “Overview”) Android screen. Then I swipe Up on the app I’m done with.

I do the same basic procedure on a desktop | laptop. If I’m done using the Brave browser or the file manager program, or any other program, I mouse-click on the “X” at the upper right of the outer border of the program’s window. That’s the generic “exit” for all apps (we only use Linux).
