Mysterious disappearance of download history

Description of the issue:
Hello community. I downloaded some zip files from the internet via Brave browser on 12th May. But, when I went to check the download history after downloading the files the next day, the history of the files downloaded on 12th May suddenly disappeared, still the files are present in my Downloads folder. The download history of other dates are present. I didn’t clear them manually or set any settings to get them disappeared. Is this a weird bug or any other issue?

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download a file from the internet via Brave browser
  2. Check download history after some time

Expected result:
The download history should have the file details.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave desktop version 1.78.97 (Chromium version 136.0.7103.93)

Additional Information:
Please look into this issue ASAP. Because for some people, they might lose the download history of some important files.

Location of History file:

  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default\History

You might establish a routine for backing up that file.

I have also noticed this recently, when ever my PC sleeps or I exit Brave browser my downloads history disappears! Its really annoying cuz I could be downloading a file and my PC sleeps for a minute, when I wake it and check my downloads on Brave, everything is gone including the file I was currently downloading. They should please do something about it!
