My phone can't sync

I’ve just gotten a new phone and tried to sync with my old phone. I used the new phone to scan the qr code on the old phone and my new phone was added to the sync chain. I then chose to sync everything and entered my pattern.

However, nothing was synced.

Then a notification from brave appeared saying “sync isn’t working. To start sync, enter your passphrase”. I tapped on the notification but all it did was bringing me back to the sync options page. On that note, what’s a passphrase?

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Scan a qr code with the sync option
  2. Tap brave notification to enter passphrase
  3. Notification showed no ways to enter passphrase

Expected result:
Fully synced browsers between 2 phones

Brave 1.65.114, Chromium 124.0.6367.60
Same version on both phones
Mobile Device details
New phone: poco x6 5g. Android version 13
Old phone: Mi 9T pro. Android version 11
Additional Information:
I tried to sync everything on both phones but it still didn’t work.
