My New Tab keeps being changed

**My New Tab page (Speed Dial 2) keeps being turned off.
I then have to go back into settings and tick it, again, back to Speed Dial 2. After I do, all the icons are very large until I sync it yet again with my Chrome browser. In the past 2 weeks, I have had to do this 3 times.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I have no idea. It just happens.

This is on a Mac running Catalina.
