My IP was blocked just for using Brave browser

My IP was blocked by the website www.gamefaqs.com just for using Brave browser with the ghostery add on and added to to dnsbl.spfbl.net blacklist. On top of that they make serious accusations about the Brave browser.

This is what they said:

Blocked IP Address
Your current IP address has been blocked due too bad behavior, which generally means one of the following:

  • You have been using Maxthon or Brave as a browser, or have installed the Gjostery add-on, and are unaware that these programs are hijacking your internet connection for their own purposes.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Access www.gamefaqs.com using Brave browser.
  2. Use the search option an X number of times with the ghostery add on active.
  3. Voila! Get your IP Banned and get added to to dnsbl.spfbl.net blacklist.

I casually visited said website before using Brave browser and nothing happened. It seems the risk of the IP ban increase when the search option bar in the website is used. English is not my native language. I hope the explanation above is good enough to understand the problem.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
That Brave browser fix / address these issues and respond to the accusations since just for using Brave this website is blocking IPs, and putting users IPs in blacklists. I can´t use Brave browser with issues like this happening, which is sad because the experience of using Brave was good so far up to this point. I am afraid of more similar issues with other websites. I never had any issue like this with any other browser.

Reproduces how often:
How many times do I need to get my IP blocked by websites just for using Brave?

Operating System and Brave Version):
Versión 1.22.71 Chromium: 89.0.4389.114 (Build oficial) (32 bits)

Additional Information:
Added the screenshot.

It looks like the problem is the extension, because I didn’t get banned (without that extension).

I see. I uninstalled the Ghostery add on yesterday. Still is worrisome that the website Gamefaqs.Gamestop make such accusations about the brave browser, yet I am not able to find any bad reviews about Brave anywhere else.

Thanks for the time you took the check the issue and your response.

Simple: most websites that use trackers, aggressive ads, fingerprinting etc. hate the Brave browser, for obvious reasons.
