Hi team, I have connected my uphold account for a couple years now and suddenly I noticed my balance from the previous years of using brave browser has vanished I now only have 8 bat when I used to have close to 50… Can we rectify this?
@Liamlk90 if you have had it connected to Uphold the entire time, then all your BAT would be in Uphold. You would have to check your Uphold account to see transaction history or even if your balance is still there. Once BAT is paid out, Brave has nothing to do with it except if you choose to tip someone or had auto contribute enabled. Auto Contribute was a function that would automatically take 1 BAT or whichever value was specified by a user to help support Creators.
If you had this enabled, then you likely were tipping every month. Regardless, it wouldn’t just vanish. You just have to look to see if your balance is still there or where they show that it went.
If you weren’t connected to Uphold and it was just what is called vBAT, meaning BAT you earned without being connected, and you did not connect before the sunset deadline, then you lost all of that. I’m referencing https://brave.com/vbat-sunset/ and https://brave.com/rewards-changes/ if you’re not familiar.
It’s not even showing my rewards going in before December 2023…
The migration of the bat that was in the wallet into my uphold account is the issue, how is it possible to lose the BAT I have been using this browser many years and have encouraged many friends to use it, it’s a shame that brave admin are washing their hands, is that the reputation you are trying to uphold? I thought you would have said like let me check what’s happening instead you just dismiss it?
If it was in Uphold it’s because you sent it somewhere. Again, anything you earned while connected to Uphold would have been paid to Uphold. You would have to check your account history there to see what happened. Once it’s in Uphold, Brave has next to nothing to do with it. The only way Brave would be involved after you got paid is if you had Auto Contribute on or were tipping people, at which point it would reduce the BAT you have in your Uphold account so it could be sent to Creators.
Who dismissed it? I explained a situation and have been waiting for you to reply back on either. But just as you initially chose to delete the template here and not ask questions, you aren’t saying anything about when you connected to Uphold or anything.
If you indeed did not connect to Uphold until after vBAT was sunsetted, then there’s nothign to check or do. You would have ignored all the warnings given on the official site, in your browser, on social media, and other places that said you must connect or risk losing anything earned.
If you had been connected to Uphold prior, then you have to look into your own Uphold account to see your transaction history. You would see what you received and where you sent it. This is not something another user like me would be able to see or even anyone at Brave. Uphold is its own company and account.
So what you have to do is answer when you connected to Uphold and what you can see in your transaction history there. Until then it’s impossible to say anything more.
And your response is impeccable my friend you want people to support you and this is what you are saying, I signed up to uphold because I saw the warning and that’s why I did it in the first place, I made my post 1 week ago and no response after my last response, I didn’t delete any thread I responded below in the community so please don’t fire claims you are not sure of
My balance was fine and suddenly when I opened my balance after some time I realized that I had a fraction of the balance remaining how is it possible to connect the wallet when it had more than 35 BAT inside and then suddenly it’s gone?
@Liamlk90 you still are avoiding both things. Make sure you answer:
- When exactly did you connect to Uphold?
- Have you logged into your Uphold account to check your transaction history?
At this point the only date you mentioned is December 2023. That was after the vBAT had sunsetted. If you waited after an expiration date to act then it’s generally too late. Especially when you waited more than a year to seek assistance on the matter.
So tell me, are you indeed complaining that something you haven’t checked for years since to be gone? Or are you saying you’ve been keeping track and it only recently “vanished?” And to emphasize once more, when paid to you then it would be in your Uphold account. It would have a transaction history there. If you have any issues with balance, you would have to check with Uphold.
The only thing Brave would be able to help you with is if this was about a more recent payment.
It happened sometime in the middle of the year it was so difficult to contact support I tried various emails etc but nothing
@Liamlk90 again, you’re ignoring all vital instructions. Once BAT is paid to you then it is in yours and Uphold’s hands. If you have an issue with it vanishing from then, you have to check your Uphold account to determine where it went.
Where Brave would help is if you were supposed to receive a payment but it never arrived. Yet you’re not saying that.
Is there a reason why you’re choosing not to go look in your Uphold account to see balances and transaction history? If you had received the BAT, it would be there.
@Liamlk90 anyway, I was going to try to spend time to get you the best help and guide you along. But since you aren’t providing any information there’s not much more I can do.
In terms of contacting Brave, you can create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 where they can check if there are any issues on their end. But based on what you have said, it seems this has absolutely nothing to do with Brave and they won’t be able to help.
You likely need to be checking into your Uphold history and could even contact Uphold, such as [email protected] or create a support ticket at https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
As you can see here the initial report was made in April 2024 and noone from brave ever replied so shut your trap I think they should fire you
@saoiray what you have to say now please tell me… The post got closed after 60 days of noone answering you are a complete idiot my friend do your job or I will write an email to Mozilla co founder it’s amazing how this gentleman will allow someone like you to tarnish his record
If I don’t get a satisfactory response I will start writing bad reviews against you on all mediums of exchange, Twitter ig Facebook telegram everything you don’t deserve people to follow you after you spit on them… Such a disrespectful agent
I registered for uphold on 6/9/23… I had problems with verification was fully verified in 15/11/2023… Sometime in beginning of March or April 2024 it’s all gone
How would they do that? I don’t work for Brave. I’m just another user who is active here helping. If you didn’t pay much attention, this is Brave Community, which is where users and support from Brave help each other. Just because someone responds to you doesn’t mean they are from Brave.
Let’s see. You didn’t put it in Brave Rewards but listed it in Feedback. You did not explain anything and you let it go more than 30 days without responding to keep your topic alive.
You specified “wallet” rather than Uphold or anything. You also don’t explain where you looked when you say no outgoing transactions.
In addition, you completely ignored the template. When you create topics here they always have a template with a bare minimum of information requested of you. Such as for Rewards issues, you would see the template below:
Please read through our Help Center articles before opening a topic.
If you have a payment issue please submit a ticket to us directly.
Please fill out the template below:
Briefly describe your issue:
What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (
Menu --> About Brave
)Who is your verified custodian? (Uphold/Gemini/bitFlyer)
Are you in a supported region? (see here for list of supported regions)
Notice how it tells you to submit a ticket if you have a payment issue? Otherwise to provide details like which OS you’re on, which custodial partner you’re using, etc?
That’s registering for Uphold. But what about when you connected Brave to Uphold? Did you do it right away?
I have been telling you everything over and over. You don’t like to answer either. Or to do your part. How many times have I asked you about your Uphold activity? Whether you ever received the BAT? Where it shows it went? Or that if you received it to Uphold and then it vanished, that it’s an issue for Uphold and not for Brave?:
Are you here for help or not? Because if you keep ignoring things…
Also, I gave you support ticket links in my last reply which told you how to get support directly from Brave and Uphold. But you seem to want to ignore that just to call me names here.
@stephen I work in customer support my first response would be an apology to say sorry that you are having a bad experience can you elaborate the problem? now that you have elaborated give me a moment to check your history to see when exactly your balance changed and if there is anything we can do about it, THIS IS THE ONLY FORM OF SUPPORT BRAVE BROWSER PROVIDES SO DONT TELL ME ITS A COMMUNITY HE IS AN ADMIN REPRESENTING BRAVE SO HE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE THIS IS A FAILURE AND THE FACT THAT YOU ARE DEFENDING STEPHEN YOU ARE CLEARLY HIS FRIEND OR KISSING ASS PISS OFF MATE IM CURRENTLY HOLDING 6000 BAT tokens been in it since 2020 so stfu and as a matter of fact I’m going to sell my bat tokens waste of time and waste of a project disgusting response from both of you
