Description of the issue:
There are some web pages at work that take a long time to load, especially if the web server is in the process of restarting.
- In other browsers the page would stay around “loading” until it was able to fully display.
- In Brave it times out fairly quickly, which requires hitting reload 2-3 times until it finally displays.
QUESTION: Is there a way to increase the timeout period for such web pages, or even for the browser as a whole?
NOTE: I am not concerned that the page load is slow, on the contrary I am concerned that Brave isn’t allowing it enough time to load.
How can this issue be reproduced?
The easiest way to reproduce is:
- Have a local web server with a bunch of apps in it (i.e.: Tomcat). Restart it.
- While it is restarting go to a page on that web server.
- Brave will begin loading, but if the period is long enough… it will timeout.
Expected result:
In other browsers I got used to having the browser continue “loading” until the server was fully up and the page available, at which time it would load and display, instead of the timeout message.
I understand the advantage of the timeout, but I assume/hope that there is a setting that can be changed so that you can tell it that for a particular server it should wait until the page fully loads instead of timing out. Or maybe be able to change the timeout for that page/server.
