Missing file extensions

bug

#1

Across both my laptop and desktop (haven’t tested with mobile), any downloads coming from Brave are missing a file extension. Everything works when I type the extension in manually, but this can become a big issue when I don’t know what the extension should be, and in general it gets old quickly.

I should note that “all files” is the only option in the dropdown list as well. This could also be linked to the issue I’m having where copying an image in brave doesn’t work.

Saving pictures creates unreadable files unless '.jpg' or '.png' or another image extension is manually added to the end of the file name

Thanks for reporting @Scheneighnay.

It’s a known issue when user rename the download file. Please make sure, when rename, you not remove the extension or you can add it manually.

And the team is working to fix it.
Best,
