Menu text is unreadable in 1.1.20

Description of the issue: I just updated to Brave 1.1.20, with the Ubuntu bionic package. Now I can’t see the text in the hamburger menu, because it has the same color as the background, unless I hover the pointer over it. Please see the screenshot.

This wasn’t the case in the previous release, 1.0.1.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Update to 1.1.20.
  2. Open the hamburger menu.
  3. Most of the menu text can’t be seen.

Expected result: Read menu entry text.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 1.1.20 Chromium: 79.0.3945.74 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: I restarted Brave, but got the same result.

This is still true in Version 1.1.21 Chromium: 79.0.3945.79 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Also present in Version 1.1.23 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Ubuntu and affects autofill suggestions for text fields too.

Edit: This only happens for me when Brave’s theme is set to “GTK+”, not with the classic theme. The bug is also not present in the corresponding version of Chrome so I doubt it has come from Chromium.

I have the same issue: The menus are unreadable unless an item is selected. But only for the GTK+ theme.

A “fix”:
Go to Settings-> Appearance -> Themes and click “Classic”

I use Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS and Brave Version 1.1.23 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I experience this too.
The “fix” is to go to Settings -> Appearance -> Themes and press the “classic”-button
