Maximized window title bar left click unmaximized the window

Description of the issue:
When the browser window is maximized on Ubuntu 24.04 (gnome), single left mouse button click anywhere in the title bar (or even the second bar where you can click on any part that is not interactive i.e. not an input/button, e.g. under the extensions icon) un-maximizes the window

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. use ubuntu 24.04 + gnome desktop (default)
  2. install brave
  3. maximize it
  4. click on an empty space in the title bar

Expected result:
nothing happens?
no other apps in ubuntu behave in the same way, it’s not a gnome thing, even checked if it happens on windows and nothing happens from a single left mouse button click there

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.66.118 Chromium: 125.0.6422.147 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
if it’s not a bug but a feature, please, explain if there’s any way or flag to turn it off

Along with Brave, I have this issue also with Chromium and VS Code

very valuable info, thanks
might be really related to gnome desktop-chromium interaction, will probably go to these communities with the same question

In my case, it helped to turn the “Enhanced Tiling” feature of Ubuntu 24.04 off (Settings → Ubuntu Desktop → Enhanced Tiling). See https://askubuntu.com/questions/1511728/how-to-prevent-accidental-window-resizing-when-touching-the-top-bar-in-ubuntu-24
