Manually force tabs into Memory Saver mode

Hi,

Is it possible to force a tab into Memory Saver mode? I’m asking this under Feature Requests as I can’t see a way to do it, but I think it would be good if the option existed perhaps as an option under the right-click menu of a tab, and would allow a more technical user to manage tabs they might know use a lot of memory.

For example, I am regularly using Miro boards and have a few tabs open on miro.com. I know that these can use a lot of memory but I am not always active in them. Memory Saver doesn’t seem to provide options such as a threshold in which Memory Saver should deactivate a tab, so a manual option to do this would be great for my use case.

Interested to know others opinions on this. Thanks.

This feature came from Chromium, so unless that is improved… Memory saver only kicks in when memory is stressed and it’ll automatically target the oldest/unused tab(s).

There are extensions that could do more advanced memory management, but have their own issues

The benefit of the Memory saver in Brave/Chromium, its hands off. User doesn’t need to think about it, no interaction needed.

you can use tab suspender for the purpose , it even has other great features

As well as extensions, there’s an internal page which will let you do that:
