So, something I’ve noticed that makes Brave seem lacking compared to Firefox is that the download/save as system is built quite different. When someone right-clicks to download a link or save a file somewhere [and then the Save As window pops up], Brave only remembers the last download path that was used regardless of which site was last downloaded from.
Say you’re a person like myself who prefers to not have everything downloaded/saved to their Downloads folder on their computer (and then move it to the preferred location later). Say you download content and software and such from multiple sites frequently and would prefer that when the Save As window pops up to pick a place to download it knows a particular path you pick for a said site; that’s essentially how Firefox’s save to/download to system works. Usually after one download path change for a specific site is made, Firefox’s save system will remember or “learn” where you want to download something from it in the future.
Now Firefox’s system isn’t necessarily perfect to the point that it will straight up, for example, remember the exact download paths for say a specific artist on a content creation site <I’m being vague here to adhere to the community guidelines as best I can> if I download content from multiple artists if I have specified a folder for that artist inside the website’s parent folder on my computer… BUT it will know to download in the folder of an artist inside the confines of the parent folder for the website I specified, originally, which to me ain’t too much sweat to change to a folder that’s inside the same parent folder (specified website’s) as the other artists (versus, say, having to navigate my entire filesystem in the save window from the Downloads folder to the specific path (in some cases a completely different drive on my computer)).
Simply put: have Brave’s save [as] system remember preferred download paths for all websites visited as technologically possible.
