Hello Brave Community,
I’m writing to seek your support and guidance concerning an issue I’ve
encountered with my Brave browser (flatpak). Your help will be greatly valued
and I appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter:
Please note: I used ChatGPT’s assistance to refine my writing in this post.
I have encountered an issue with the Brave flatpak and the Mailvelope extension.
Specifically, the Mailvelope extension does not seem to detect GnuPG, despite enabling GPG agent directories through Flatseal, an application used for managing permissions, I don’t seem to get this working. Here is a screenshot of the issue:
And yes gnupg is already installed with the newest version being (2.2.40-1.1).
How can this issue be reproduced?
-
Install Brave stable as a flatpak using flatpak install in the terminal
-
Install the Mailvelope extension in Brave from the Chrome web store.
-
Enable GPG agent directories using Flatseal (flatpak application)
Expected result:
The Mailvelope extension should detect GnuPG and function properly within the
Brave flatpak installation. Currently it says GnuPG is not available
Brave Version (check About Brave
