When downloading Brave for macOS, the 2 links on the download page, one is “Get Brave for macOS” which currently gives this URL https://laptop-updates.brave.com/download/BRV010
The other is the in the sentence below that which reads “Downloads of this version of the Brave Browser (desktop) are available for Windows, macOS and Linux.”
and uses the URL
https://laptop-updates.brave.com/latest/osx
The URL with BRV010 is providing the latest version while the URL with /latest/osx is providing the prior version (not latest).
Good catch – thank you for pointing this out.
Forwarding to the team right now.

The URL with BRV010
What’s interesting is BRV010 is the referral code to say it was clicked on through Google. So it shouldn’t be showing on the main page. It definitely wasn’t showing like that for me on Windows. But might be some weird thing.
Anyway, just a FYI, the codes you’re speaking about are just little tidbits to show where the person clicked to download from. You can see a bit of an explanation about this at Brave Browser Referral Codes Update
Anyway, at least Mattches seems to have checked it out and seen what you’ve noticed. Guessing they’ll get it fixed.

Actually looks like this is already known:

OS/macOS
OS/Desktop
### Description
When visiting https://brave.com/, the blue `[Get Brave]` button… in the upper right and the larger orange ones on the page point to
```
https://laptop-updates.brave.com/download/BRV002
```
However, if you click on 'Browser' at the top and select 'Desktop' from the drop-down menu (which links to https://brave.com/download/), those buttons now point to
```
https://laptop-updates.brave.com/download/BRV030
```
More importantly, however, under the large orange button on this download page there are 3 other links to the specific OSes. The one for **macos** points to
```
https://laptop-updates.brave.com/latest/osx
```
So we have three (3) different links which SHOULD all download the same, latest version of the Brave browser if one is on a Mac.
THIS is the real problem. If someone clicks on any of the other buttons, even though they reference different URLs, the `.dmg` file that you download is, as I type this, the correct one with [Release v1.75.178 (Chromium 133.0.6943.98)](https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v1.75.178), which dropped yesterday.
HOWEVER, if someone clicks on the **macOS** link on the Download page, they actually download the previous version, [Release v1.75.175 (Chromium 133.0.6943.54)](https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v1.75.175) which came out on 6 Feb.
First, would it not be wise to have all the buttons reference the same URL?
Second, of the three URLs, is any more "authoritative"?
I ask as I track Brave's updates via that macOS link in my AutoPkg/Munki setup. And since yesterday, even though Brave kept insisting there was a new version, if I told AutoPkg to go check and download it, AutoPkg kept saying there was nothing new to download. Which is how I eventually tracked this down.
### Steps to reproduce
1. Using a browse on a Mac (though I suspect it will be the same for anyone regardless of OS), visit https://brave.com/
2. Hover over each of the buttons to see the URL in use
3. Click on 'Browser' in the upper left and then select 'Desktop' from the drop-down menu
4. Hover over each button and the **macOS** link to see the different URLs
5. Download the `.dmg` file using the button and also from the **macOS** link (save in different directories since the filename is the same)
6. Mount each by double-clicking on them and checking the browser version using the normal Get Info feature in Finder (e.g., RIGHT-click on the Brave app and select "Get Info" from the popup menu)
### Actual result
The version of Brave in the `.dmg` file downloaded using the button is the current version, while the version in the `.dmg` file downloaded using the **macOS** link is an OLD version.
### Expected result
I expected the macOS link to download the same, _current_ version as all the other buttons did.
