MacOS 13.7.1 Text Replacement not working

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Create Text Replacement in MacOS → Settings → Keyboard
  2. Type the short text into Brave anywhere
  3. The replacement text pops up but when I press spacebar only the original short text is typed

Expected result:

Replacement text should be typed in after pressing space. Works in other browsers and direct in OS.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.78.94 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information:

MacOS Ventura 13.7.1
Macbook M1 Pro

@boopboopboop looks like I can reproduce this. For some reason space bar doesn’t work, but if I hit Tab instead, the text is inserted as expected. Will ask the our macOS team about why this might be happening in Brave.

I am having mixed results using Tab.

It works fine when typing in this community site but not in Gmail or Pastebin.

Seconding this. I can’t seem to get it to work with Tab either.

Brave Version: 1.78.94
