Description of the issue: Unable to make BAT account, nor to swap for BAT
Is the issue occurring on a specific network? Solana
What operating system are you using? Windows
Brave Version (check About Brave): Brave 1.79.123
Additional Information:
I’m trying to set up self custody for BAT on Brave. However, the brave wallet seems to be having lots of issues. I can’t swap. I managed to send SOL to the Brave Wallet just fine from my own wallet. However, now that it’s funded the Brave Wallet, the process of connecting to Brave Rewards and to Swap continues to fail.
For example, when Brave Rewards prompts to make the ATA account for BAT, I queue up the transaction, approve it (and have more than enough SOL in the account to pay for the network fee) but then it fails with this error:
Why is it even talking about ETH at all? This is a solana network transaction for BAT on Solana…seems to be a Brave and a Brave Wallet error.
So, since the ATA creation wasn’t working, I tried to simply swap SOL for BAT so that I’d then have a BAT account…no dice. The Swap transactions failed too. I tried twice…this time the network fees were charged, but I got another error window saying the transaction failed…and no BAT nor BAT account were added (paid the network fees for nothing)
Here’s the transactions view for my account…you can see all the failed ETH transactions for the solana acct (??) as well as the two failed attempts to swap…lost a penny and way to much time on all of this.
Please let me know how to get it working. Love brave and BAT overall, but the self-custody experience has been rough so far
PS: here is the other error windows I saw as well as the most recent swap attempt
